December: month 4
December 12th, 2013
Merry Christmas everyone
Can you believe it next week my first semester of college will be over. Do you remember the first blog I wrote back in December. I find that I have become a little more independent since August. It has been a great experience so far being in college and figuring out what works and what doesn't. Like what to do or not to do when flying by yourself. A week from tomorrow, friday, I will be home and ready to be in my native environment as some might say. I had my first today and it went well. It was my acting final which was pretty easy. Next week I have the rest of my finals. Wish me luck.
I can't wait to see everyone back home.
Merry christmas to everyone who reads this
Love
Allison

November Month 3: a different type of vlog
Happy November everyone,
This blog is less about what is going on and more about my thoughts and feelings during this time of the semester and calendar year. November is my one of my favorite months of the year. I like how everyone thinks about what they are thankful for. Lets just say I have a quite a few things to be thankful for this thanksgiving.
Starting college has given me a whole new perspective on family and friends. Even being away from home for four months which is only about a month longer than I do during the summer. I have found that I miss everyone like crazy. Not that I don't miss everyone in the summer as well. I am
Having visitors spread out between october and november has really helped me to keep going and not miss family and home too much. I am super excited to spend thanksgiving in spokane where some family is. However I am also excited to spend christmas back at home as that will have been the first time being home since August. Holidays are coming and the semester is ending quickly. I only have 5 weeks left or 1.25 months left. It will go fast.
Happy birthday sophie.
Happy thanksgiving and november.

October: month number 2
Happy dwarfism awareness month everyone.
I know I mention it a lot but there are many people out there who simply are unaware that dwarfism exists so I try to do my part to spread awareness. So far everything is going well. October 11th was our mid-semester break. We had no classes that day. I will admit that with most going home for the weekend I felt a little lonely and homesick. But I knew that mom and dad would be here soon. Classes are going well.
One of my assignments required me and a partner to go to a fast food restaurant and observe. Its important to take advice from other people. With Thanksgiving coming up I am having fun making travel arrangements. I appreciate all the love and encouragement that I am getting from everyone. It really helps me remember that I can succeed in what I am doing even when I am far from home. I went out to dinner for the first time since being here. We went to a Teriyaki Restaurant called Nara with my brother floor and some of the other girls from my floor. It was really good.
Well I will see you all next month for more Adventures with Allison

September :month number 1
Hi everyone,
Well, this has been some month. Classes have started, weather is changing and I have settled into a routine that works. This month started out being kinda crazy with it being the first week of classes. I think I can speak for a bunch of the freshman bruins and new students when I say that we were pretty exhausted by the time monday rolled around.
I can say that I am doing well for those of you who I have not communicated with on a regular bases. So far my favorite class is psychology. It amazes me how fast time has gone. The student run events here are so much fun. For example, two weeks ago we had an all campus movie night where we watched the Goonies. This upcoming weekend we have an event called the main event. This is basically competition between living areas with minute to win it games such as trying to suck m&ms out of a pie pan. Before I know it Thanksgiving will be here. I hope everyone is doing well. I miss all of you.
PS. If you could please pray for a friend of mine that would be great.

My first couple days at George fox
Happy labor day weekend everyone
If you didn't already know my roommate and I moved into my dorm room on Thursday. Its a fairly spacious room with enough room to move around and be comfortable. On Friday night everyone went to the late night at Fred meyer which is where the store is open from 11 to 1 but only for George fox students and family. Last night I joined the rest of the first year students on what we call the mystery bus tour. This is where the faculty plan a trip, tell us what to pack and then take us somewhere but don't tell us where until we arrive. It was so much fun. We went to an indoor water park with waterslides and a wave pool along with many other cool additions. I had the best time hanging out and meeting new people. Mom and Dad left yesterday. At first I admit it didn't quite sink in that they were going home and I was left in charge of myself.I think so far I am doing pretty well(haven't died yet as you can guess). I begin classes on Monday. I am excited to begin the school year and do what I need to do to succeed. The cafeteria food is really good. At George fox they call the dining hall the "bone". Everyone here is so helpful and nice. Miss you all
